Day out in London

We woke up this morning and had no plans for the day apart from spending it together as Luke is off work this week. So we made a quick decision to take the boys in to London to visit the Natural History Museum and I am really glad we did.

I think the Museum building is one of the most amazing buildings in London

Inside the entrance hall there is an enormous dinosaur skeleton, at first Harry was a bit nervous and asked Luke to carry him. This didn’t last long and he was soon off running about.

Both boys found it all fascinating

Ollie enjoying his chocolate chip cookie, I think this was his favourite part of the day.

Harry ran from exhibit to exhibit, there was just so much for him to see.

The day was completed with Harry getting to meet Elmer (well he thought it was Elmer!).

  1. Spontaneous days out are sometimes the best aren't they. Both of my kids love the Natural History Museum. Did you see the T-Rex?

  2. ooooo you're making me home sick! I just want to jump on a plane back to England when I read posts like this. We were last 'home' in 2007 and had a wonderful time visiting the museum with our then 18 month and 4 year old. Glad you enjoyed a wonderful, spontaneous day out :)

  5. What fun! Garrett loves going to the American Museum of Natural History here in NYC -- he runs from exhibit to exhibit, too.

  6. James and I are headed there at Half Term - we're both complete nature geeks too! As a Biology teacher he'll be in his element! :-)

  7. Looks like a great day. Have you done the science museum recently? In the basement they have a great play bit for the younger kids, water, touchy feely stuff, big bricks etc and then upstairs there is a god bit for older kids. Mich x
